Seemed like a nice place to rent from at first. Very professional when we were signing our lease. After that though things went downhill. We had pest problems that we called several times about and nothing was done. The maintainance people they use are very careless and rude. They broke several of my things when they were pressure washing the front of our apartment (which we received no warning about) and didn't even tell me or apologize! To top it off they even took over half our deposit as a "cleaning" fee. I made sure to clean our apartment before we left to avoid this very thing. When I asked they told me they had found the place a complete mess with a terrible smell coming from the kitchen (probably the rats they never got rid of!). Honestly one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had.
When Robinson bought the apartments we were renting they immediately started renovating all the apartments and outside space. My roommate and I thought this would be a good thing, until we came home one day and they had thrown away several of our plants because they were 'in the way' and never gave us an explanation. Then we started getting rats and Robinson laid out poison as the solution. The rats started dying in the walls and the realty company told us we would just have 'to deal with it' (referring to the smell). The did not renovate our apartment but increased our rent by $100 every month. Then they replaced our large onsite washer/dryers that cost about $1 to wash and a $1 to dry with smaller machines that cost $2 to wash and $2 to dry. To save some money we strung lines out in the patio area near the washing room. The maintenance guy cut our lines down while our clothes were on it! We told Robinson and they didn't say much. The second time he just took the lines with him! Also, if they ever tell you you can pay a pet deposit and keep your animal, DONT! I paid a $300 non refundable pet deposit to keep my dog onsite. I wasn't the only person who had a dog. We would let them use the bathroom in the patio area and I cleaned up after my pet but not everyone did. Despite constantly trying to keep it picked up I eventually received notice that all pets had to be removed, so of course I moved out, forfeiting my pet deposit. And finally, when I received my deposit refund they had kept $235 for 'cleaning' even though the lease stipulates there will be a $100 cleaning charge. The claim it was for 'pet damage' and a carpet cleaning. There was no damage and the apartment had tile throughout! When I demanded an explanation I was talked over and hung up on. No one ever answered my calls or attempted to contact me with an explanation. After all, if it really was pet damage, isn't that what the pet deposit is for??? Robinson runs a shady business that uses cheap fixes and fabricates false charges. They will use any excuse to fine you and steal money. Would never ever rent from them again.
