On my first visit, they would not leave us alone for more than 30 seconds despite us assuring them we were browsing and didn't need any help -- they approached us numerous times, asked if we needed help, then tried pushing various bottles on us after we'd told them we just wanted to look around. I witnessed them doing this to other customers as well. I ended up buying a bottle of Glenfiddich and left. In retrospect, I wish I would have bought it elsewhere.
Then I went back for the second and last time, a day ago. As soon as we walked in, they began their evidently usual routine of borderline harassment. This time, it was as though they thought we were going to steal something. After telling one of the employees for the third time that we were browsing, she hovered a few steps behind us everywhere we went. I'm an avid scotch drinker, and I was looking at a mid-range bottle of Macallan when the employee told me that it was probably too expensive for me. Then, she asked for my ID and told me I looked like a twelve year old with a beard.
Please, go to either 1250 Package Store on Tuscaloosa Road or The Jug on Alabama Street -- the people at those stores are always respectful and helpful without being pushy, presumptuous and insulting.

I have visited this store twice in the span of a week, and I'm afraid my second visit is going to be my last one. Aesthetically, this store is the best looking liquor store in the area. They do a good job maintaining it and the products are organized and displayed quite well. It would be my first choice if not for the people working there and how they interact with customers.
Great selection service and expertise
